P3 - Project Penguin ProposalThe day started at 7am where
we drive to San Francisco
for an appointment with a concert promoter to perform at a Chinese New Year
celebration at the San Francisco Zoo where they have all of the animals of the
Chinese Zodiac. I hired a photographer/actor
to pretend he works for the zoo and will be documenting this process of
organizing a big Chinese New Year Concert Event.
Katheryn (our SF Zoo Liaison)
meets us and takes us on a tour of the zoo on our way to the office. Keep in mind the zoo is still closed as I
hand Katheryn both of our promo packages and secretly slip her the ring.
Here we are lookin’ like a
couple of Rock Stars along with our Paparazzi as we walk to the office.
We continue our tour and see
kangaroos, bears, lions, rhinos…and of course...TIGERS!!
 That’s my favorite
animal! Born the Year of the TIGER!
We end up at the Penguin
exhibit where Larissa goes wild, but realizes she is a professional so she
can’t openly declare her love to the penguin colony. For those of you that don't know, Larissa
LOVES penguins, but has never touched one before.
Katheryn excuses herself to answer a call as the zoo keeper invites us onto
Penguin Island to see and touch a REAL penguin.
Katheryn returns with a
confession to Larissa. “This is NOT just
a concert promotion meeting. Baldwin has adopted a penguin in your name which allows
you to meet the penguin you adopted! In
fact, along with meeting the penguin, we are including this plush penguin
doll.”
Then Larissa notices
something around the penguins neck.
This is where it becomes
obvious and I do what I gotta do.
 And she says the magic
word… 
...”YES!”
Wow…It looks like she
actually likes it!
But the fun doesn’t stop
here.
Moments later, Larissa get’s
stung by a bee and it’s me to the rescue!
After the Penguin Proposal,
we meet the main bird curator.
The zoo
rescued this Bald(win) Eagle and they took us to a private area where they keep
this wild bird.
Well, that’s the quick and
dirty on Saturday 9/29/07. I had a good
day!
I think Larissa did too.
